One of the most important parts in our human body is our hand. We use our hands for almost everything and keeping them clean is our duty. They improve hand hygiene and avoid getting sick, as well as avoid spreading germs to others. Many diseases and conditions are spread by not washing hands with soap and clean running water.
Quite recently World-famous film actor and mother, Kajol urged people to join her in supporting the cause of hand washing with the Lifebuoy’s ‘Help A Child Reach 5’ campaign which aims to eradicate diarrhoea, one village at a time. Kajol is a famous Indian actress, she has received six Filmfare Awards from eleven nominations. Now this is an interesting campaign which I’m very excited to talk about. This campaign “Help A Child Reach 5” has adopted Thesgora, a village in Madhya Pradesh.
Why this village specifically? Thesgora (Chhindwara district in Madhya Pradesh) reportedly has the highest rates of diarrhoea to inculcate handwashing habits.
Your contributions can be made for helping them reach the age of 5. Kajol is requesting people to donate to handwashing programmes, so that they can live a better life, and a promising childhood as well.
How You Can Donate For This Campaign
The donations can be made online at YouTube Channel – Help A Child Reach 5. The donations will go to Population Services International (PSI), a leading health organization for implementing handwashing programmes.
For every donation made Lifebuoy will match the donation amount for its handwashing programmes. Lifebuoy will also donate 1 rupee to handwashing programmes every time the ‘Help a Child Reach 5’ video is shared online.
During the release of a film of Kajol speaking about the importance of handwashing the donation campaign was launched. This campaign is to prevent child deaths and urging people to donate to the cause and share Lifebuoy’s award-winning ‘Help a Child Reach 5’ video.
